UPDATE (16.9.2011) – Unfortunately due to the new dev-certificate policies of Symbian Signed, it is now virtually impossible to get a certificate for your phone. And even if you manage to get one, it will not work for HelloOx or HackIt! (described in this post) etc. So the following method will work only if you have your phone specific certificate and key file ISSUED BEFORE 23rd June 2011. If this is not the case with you then do not worry, a new, very simple Symbian hacking method is now available which requires no damn key or certificate – just refer to this new post.
HackIt! Method to hack older Symbian phones
Although I have already described this method to hack Symbian^3 phones in a previous post but this hack works universally well in older Symbian phones as well. So here I will describe the HackIt! method again especially to hack Symbian S60 3rd and 5th edition mobiles. Unfortunately HelloOx does not work in all 3rd ed (FP2) and 5th ed phones (especially with latest updated firmwares) and therefore HackIt! method is lifesaver in such cases. Here I am repeating the steps involved in the hack –
1. Download “Cert_Updater.sisx” (signed) from here and install in the phone (confirm replace if asked during installation).
2. Download “Cert_Hack_Installer.sis” from here and sign it with your own (phone specific) “Key” and “Certificate” (Don’t know how to sign? read this post first)
3. Install the signed “Cert_Hack_Installer.sis” (Ignore any warning during installation). A new app will be installed in the phone with the name “HackIt!”. Go to “Menu/Applications/HackIt!” and launch it. Wait for the process to complete (until the message “Hacking successful” or something like that appears).
4. Go to the just installed “ROM Patcher+” (Menu/Applications) and run it. Go to Options/All Patches/Apply, select Apply (This will activate all hacks including the hacked installserver and full system-access to all file managers). You can switch these hacks “on or off” any time by going to ROMPatcher+
Done!!!
Enjoy the freedom of installing unsigned apps, games and themes without any damn certificate error. Also access any system folder/file by any file manager (X-plore, FExplorer etc). For any query please leave a comment….
NOTE: If there is any error during “HackIt!” process, restart the phone and run “HackIt!” again. Also you can remove “HackIt” from phone after step 3 is complete. Note also that updating phone’s firmware (or formatting/hard reset) will un-hack the phone and you will have to repeat the above process again.

You will have to sign Cert_hack_installer with your own device specific cert/key file before installation.

Dear Try hacking with Hackit! method (repeat the process 3 to 5 times), it works perfectly well in all latest firmwares of all Nokia mobiles. You can also try the latest version of Helloox 2.11 also. If these dont work anyhow then tell me exactly where these methods have failed and what error they are giving.

The cert/key issued now (after 23rd June 2011) via “open signed” are not much useful because these can be used to sign apps that lie within a certain range of UIDs. So dear better try to hack the phone to install apps rather than using the damn cert/key.

I signed cert_Hack_Installer.sis via Freesigner, and then when i install, it gives error ‘unable to install protected app from trusted supplier’.
I use nokia 5233.
Does hacking will losse my Phones warranty.

hey bro i am using e63 and trick isn’t working on my phone,the rompatcher was showing a red cross sign so i transfered installserver to c:\sys\bin but this didn’t make any difference instead now it is showing ”file corroupted” error on every app installation.please give me a solution

Dear Shoaib siddiqui, why should i restore Anti-Virus’s Quarantine list (as quarantine list contents viruses in it,when we scan our device and found some virus, virus goes in to Quarantine list). why dont u guys give this file as a fresh file (not in quarantine list). is there any other way to get my nokia e7 hacked. thnx in advncd. sorry 4 my poor english.

Valid question indeed! Bro the files in quarantine here are not virus, instead these files are deliberately placed in quarantine just for the purpose of sending them to a specified location (C:/sys/bin). So do not worry about any threat of virus…
