HOW TO JAILBREAK iPHONE 4S/iPAD2 (RUNNING iOS 5.0.1) USING GreenPoisOn ABSINTHE A5 UNTETHERED JAILBREAK TOOL?

The kind and wonderful guys of GreenpoisOn Chronic-Dev Team have finally released an untethered Jailbreak for latest iOS firmware. This is named as “Absinthe iOS 5.0/5.0.1 A5 Untethered Jailbreak” for iPhone 4S/iPad 2. Users having latest iOS firmware devices have waited for quite some time to get an untethered jailbreak mainly because of the new A5 chip. According to the hackers “Dream Team” (a team consisting of many top-notch iOS hackers and developers), it looked virtually impossible to find a jailbreak exploit in iOS version 5 (and later) running on A5 processor but thanks to extensive user feedback of crash-reports, hackers finally got the required clues to jailbreak. Anyway enough of the background, let’s get to the method now. Follow the instructions given below –
GreenPoisOn Absinthe A5 jailbreak is currently for iPhone 4S (running iOS version 5.0 or 5.0.1 only) and iPad 2 (all variants, must be running firmware version 5.0.1). You need to have a Mac or Windows PC to get this job done

1. Download Absinthe A5 jailbreak tool from here (for Mac OS X) or here (for Windows)

2. Extract the zip file and run Absinthe. Now connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to the PC and click “Jailbreak” button at Absinthe. During the process phone’s screen will show “Restore in progress”.

3. Wait for the process to complete; it may be a long wait mind you! But that’s all needed anyway as after a while your device will be free from Apple’s confines.

4. After the process is complete, Absinthe icon will appear in menu, locate and run it. It should load the greenpoisOn.com and will eventually reboot the device.

Bingo! At restart you should see the cute Cydia icon (with all its goodies) in device menu, enjoy the freedom! One more thing, being an un-tethered jailbreak, you will not have to repeat it after every reboot.

Also note that after jailbreaking, DO NOT UPDATE to iOS firmware version later than 5.0.1 (whenever it becomes available) as this will un-jailbreak your iDevice.
