Skype Symbian app removed from Nokia Store!
Skype official app (native Symbian version) has been removed from Nokia (Ovi) Store after Skype developers discontinued its development (earlier this year) for a soon-to-be-dead OS. As everyone knows death of Symbian OS is imminent and nearing, app developers are leaving the sinking ship one by one. Skype is the latest in this series which disappeared from the Nokia Ovi Store (when I checked recently). However it may be a temporary disappearance for now. Skype for Symbian has never been as good as Skype for iOS/Android (no video calling support) but still it was a cheap alternative to voice calls.
As an avid fan of Symbian OS and owner of some of the best Symbian phones of all time (Nokia 6600, N70, N95, C7, N8 and soon 808 PureView), I feel really bad by these developments. Any way if you are searching for Skype because you can’t find it at the Nokia Store then look no further! Here is the download link of sis file of the last working version of Skype for Symbian (signed and compatible with all Symbian S60v3, S60v5, Symbian^3/Anna/Belle phones)
Download Skype v220.127.116.11 from here
I am not sure whether it will work in Nokia Belle FP1/FP2 phones (Nokia 603, 700, 701, 808PureView), try and share your experience via comments.
