Despite steep pricing and plummeting profits HTC still has its own fan following among Android users. Their “One” series of smartphones have impressed the world due to the top-notch hardware and premium design aesthetics which is on par with (or even better than) iPhone. The latest addition to their One lineup is the all new HTC One (M8) which is now available worldwide. This flagship Android phone is up against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and the upcoming LG G3 – thus the competition is tougher than ever. Design-wise the One (M8) closely matches its predecessor however there are many hardware and software improvements under the hood. There is a new depth of field sensor which can be utilized to refocus and apply various effects to the foreground and background elements of photos taken with the camera (in real time or even after taking the photo).

Pricing and availability – HTC launched M8 in major markets (US, Canada and Europe) the same day it was announced (on March 25). Price is variable according to market/memory (16/32GB) variant but in general M8 is launched at US$ 800-900 unlocked (Rs. 49990-56000 in India).
