Mobile Number Locator/Tracer For India

“Mobile number locator” is a useful Java/J2me application to trace the network operator and circle of any mobile number in India. Besides you can also find STD codes of all major cities of India or trace the city by entering the STD code.
In India Mobile phone network is divided into “Telecom circles”. A Circle operates in a certain geographical area, for example ‘Delhi & NCR’ circle operates in New Delhi and some adjacent areas. Multiple mobile network service providers (BSNL, Idea, Aircel etc) operates in every telecom circle. Mobile numbers of same operator differ from circle to circle. In the ten digit mobile number first four digits are operator and Circle specific. For example in mobile number 9808227890, it can be ascertained from the first four digits (9808) that it is an Aircel (Operator), UP West (Circle) mobile number. You can get this info with the help of “Mobile number locator” right in your phone.
Install and run ‘Mobile no. locator’, enter first four digits of the number (without +91 or 091) and press Options/Locate to get the mobile number info in detail. Being a Java app, it is compatible with most of the phones today and it is free too. The only minus point of this app is, that it becomes outdated too fast and need to be updated frequently to add the new number series launched by the operators every now and then.
There is also a free Indian Telephone Directory on this site.
Thanks to Arjit and Sumit for this great app and site.
Try and enjoy…
