Opera Mini Next (Beta) is available for download (version 7 for J2ME, Symbian S60, Android and Blackberry)

More exciting news for Opera Mini fans, Opera has created a Beta channel (called “Next”) for future Mini versions (like Mozilla Firefox). “Next” is the soon to be released version of Opera Mini available free to use and to report bugs. Currently Opera Mini 7 is available as the next version with many new features as follows –

1. Home-page has been redesigned into a two-tab page – along with speed dials page another tab “Home” has been added. This “Home” contains History, links to popular sites plus Facebook and Twitter integration (much like UC Browser).

2. Now you can create as many Speed dials as you wish (not just 9) besides speed dials can also be rearranged if required by “drag and drop” or “Manage” tab.

Update (May 31st 2012) – This Next (Beta) version of Opera Mini 7 is now available as a final stable version for Symbian, Java/J2ME and Blackberry phones. So following download links will also direct you to the stable version.

Incidentally Opera Mini 7 final version (“dogwood_next”) has already been released for iOS but it lacks the redesigned “Home”. For other OSes (Symbian, Blackberry, J2ME and Android) Opera Mini Next is available as a Beta app at
m.opera.com/next or

Mini Next 7 will install as a separate version in the phone and will show up with a white icon (to distinguish it from the stable release). It will not replace any pre-installed version of Opera Mini.
