Vernee Apollo 2 will be the first Android phone powered by MTK Helio X30 SoC

Vernee (a Chinese phone maker) is sending invites for it’s mobile launch event scheduled to be held on February 27, 2017 at MWC in Barcelona. As per the invite, Vernee will announce multiple devices including a high-end flagship at this event. According to Vernee, the new flagship, called Vernee Apollo 2 will be the first phone powered by the new powerful Helio X30 SoC from MediaTek. Helio X30 is the third generation processor from MediaTek’s high-end X series. It is based on an advanced 10 nm architecture with improved power efficiency and blazing fast performance. Helio X30 will compete against the likes of Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon 835 in the current and upcoming crop of 2017 flagships. It remains to be seen how it performs in the real world scenario.

Vernee Apollo 2 Specifications

All we know about Vernee Apollo 2 right now is that it will be available in two variants –
A 6 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM standard model and
A 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM premium model
Thus it will be the second phone to have a whopping 8 Gigs of RAM (first one being the just announced Asus Zenfone AR).

Besides Apollo 2, Vernee will also announce following Android phones at MWC 2017

Vernee Mars Pro – A high-end phone with Helio P25 CPU and 6 GB RAM

Apollo X – Expected to be a very affordable Helio X20 phone

Thor E – a pocketable sized (5 inch, 8.2 mm thick) and lightweight (149 gm.) phone with a big 5020mAh

Thor Plus – A mid-range phone with a monster 6050mAh battery packed in an un-believably thin (just 7.9 mm) body
